Back in the 1970s, of all the painting styles that had emerged and regressed, neo-expressionism is the most prominent. It is this style that has governed the modern sculpting and painting so much so that it is regarded as the stepping stone of the modern techniques. The style came into existence in 1970 and has exerted a domain presence in the market since. No-expressionist style of painting has connection with the Lyrical Abstraction of 1960s and 70s, initiated by the Americans. Like the photorealist art of today, it came to the forefront and in a great way shaped the future of modern art.

The neo-expressionism is basically art movement that originated from the European countries like Italy, Germany and later spread to the United States. Chief initiative of the art is development of large and heavy artworks, thick impastos, etc., that are themed on historical narratives of events. The art style relies heavily on symbolism, mythical stories and allegories to make its point. Unlike photorealist art that is sharply inclined to the smallest of details, in order to make the output as realistic as possible, neo-expressionist ...
... art forms are more into disfiguring, reflecting a clear departure from purity of forms.

A specialty about the neo-expressionism art is that it exploits the primal and taboo and the product is usually surrealistic. The point of neo-expressionist art is to develop a painting that is normally grotesque, or deals with nightmarish scenes or abstract elements that are mostly negative. The establishment of the European artists in the modern art scene seriously owes to this style of art. If you read into this art form, you’ll know that the USP of neo-expressionists is that they are more individual than a community. Their artworks are mostly products of their own situation or understanding of the same, and not some code that is universally accepted. Just as photorealist art does not harp on the history or present, neo-expressionists do not deny what has passed.

However, maximum modernist schools prefer to produce paintings that are based on the present, or future which are hardly throwbacks from the past. On the contrary, neo-expressionism nullifies all the modernist borderlines and push on to explore the realm of customary painting, and the elements of painting as a discipline that has been left to oblivion by modernist aesthetics. What makes these artists completely unique is that their conceptions, products and ideas are not similar with each other. Artists living in the United States draw their inspiration from one of the greatest painters of all times, Picasso, who was a neo-expressionist. He was one of the painters to have created the most prolific portfolios that are greatest in the history of art. Neo-expressionist and photorealist art works are available for purchase in the current market, thanks to the contemporary painters, such as Nicholas Chistiakov and others who have kept the traditions alive with all their spirits. Try buying one of these paintings for your home to appreciate the exclusive perspectives of these painters.

Are you a loyalist of photorealist art and wish to own some paintings from the genre? Visit the site of Nicholas Chistiakov to find some really great specimens of neo-expressionism art that you might consider buying.
