Mayer M Flaks Explores Locations For Professional Landscape Photography

Mayer M Flaks is a professional photographer living in Portland, Oregon. It is his newest ambition to perfect his ability to capture fine art quality images of landscapes and before moving on to wildlife photography. Originally, Mayer M Flaks thought capturing beautiful landscape photographs would be easy, however, he soon discovered photography art is not as easy as click and shoot.
Through trial and error, Mayer M Flaks found there are several small things that factor into taking beautiful landscape photos. His first tip: try to capture as much landscape as possible. Mayer M Flaks had to figure out his own camera's settings in order keep the entire image into focus. For this he explains, "Choose a small aperture setting or size of the opening of the lens." While it may seem confusing to new photographers, large apertures have large numbers and small apertures have high numbers.
"One of the first problems I had was camera movement. There is nothing wrong with using a tripod for landscape photography. In fact, I recommend it," says Mayer M Flaks. He recommends tripod use for both natural landscapes and cityscape ...
... photography. Recently, Mayer M Flaks has taken a love to Portland, Oregon and surrounding area for his focus.
"Portland is a beautiful city right off a river. What adds to the attraction is at night when the lights reflect off of the river. You see a band of light between a dark sky and river," says Mayer M Flaks. Whether combining a picture of the city against a natural background or just the landscape surrounding the city, Mayer M Flaks suggests taking advantage of Mount Hood. "Mount Hood has plenty of scenic landscape," says Mayer M Flaks.
For more natural landscape photographs, Mayer M Flaks suggests traveling to Multnomah Falls. The waterfall provides the perfect focal point for landscape photography. "You can see the waterfall up close or from a distance. The Holiday Inn Gresham has a terrific view of the waterfall from over 15 miles away," says Mayer M Flaks.
For close or distance photography, Mayer M Flaks recommends visiting Portland, Oregon's:
• Sandy River
• Clackamas River
• Bagby Hot Springs
• Downtown Portland
• Oregon Portland Rose Garden – the world's largest rose garden.
• Lan Su Chinese Garden
• Forest Park
• Portland Japanese Garden
• Tryon Creek State Park
• Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden
There are plenty of beautiful places to photograph in Portland, Oregon. With the right equipment and eye for beauty, Mayer M Flaks knows everyone would find beauty in and around the city. Mayer M Flaks continues to be drawn to Portland for all the beauty the city and surrounding area holds.
