It is very important for any team, and most importantly a leadership team to be able to make decisions in time. They should also see to it that these decisions are based on relevant facts and are supported by action. This is a principal skill required for leadership team. You don’t need to make decisions skillfully and efficiently just to materialize for people. You need to have certain building blocks that should be in place to support a person’s ability to make these decisions.

Trust and interaction are the main ingredients needed.

Trust is basically a stringent belief that you can count on a person or thing. It is a confident assumption, firm belief or confidence in the loyalty, integrity, accountability and justice of another person or thing. Interaction and discussion between representatives versus a monologue defined as a long speech by one person. The five strong characteristics of any team are:-

• Taking risks and providing feedback and assistance.

• Utilize your time and energy on important issues and not politics.

• Accept questions and input about their departments of responsibility.

Effective conversations more often than not include both listening and talking so that crucial information can be easily shared and this will lead to making most successful decisions for the company. If you find yourself in a meeting which involves plain monologues, you may not be able to reach the most effective decision.

The main points important for making a good decision are as follows:

• Pertinent facts.

• Everyone concerned should weigh in.

• Healthy debate is always more than welcome.

• Understanding the risk factors.

• You can appoint someone who would carry out this responsibility well.

Trust your employees and give them the power to take decisions for your company.
