Sanganer lies on the outskirts of Jaipur city, and is known as a major centre for Hand block printing. Sanganeri hand block printing gained popularity over 16th and 17th century. Many printers from Gujrat migrated during Mughal Maratha war and they settled down here taking hand printing as their occupation. "Shades of black come out best after washing the cloth in the waters of Sanganer. Sanganer motifs are mostly floral based. Fine lines and intricate detailing are specialties of the Sanganeri style.” UNIDO (The United Nations Industrial Development Organization) reported. MATERIALS, MOTIFS, PATTERN
Motifs:- The characteristic motifs of Sanganer prints are majorly sober, low toned and delicate lines which create designs like lotus, poppy, and rose. Sanganer is known for producing fine block printed textiles on off white or pastel colored background.
