The Magnificent Indian Art And Culture

India is an ancient country known for its art and culture in the whole world from times immemorial. India is one of the oldest civilizations on earth. Millions of tourists visit India every year to experience the rich Indian culture and heritage.
The Indian culture basically consists of the religions, beliefs, traditions, customs, languages, rituals, arts, values, and the way of life of people in India. The Indian culture is also known for its diversity. In fact it can be said that India has the most diversified culture in the world. India’s languages, faiths, dance, music, architecture, food, and customs differ from place to place within the country.
Indian art refers to the visual art produced on the Indian subcontinent from about the 3rd millennium BC to the modern times. The Indian art may seem too embellished and sensuous to the viewers schooled in Western tradition; however, they gradually start to admire it when they are able to acknowledge its elegance and aesthetic quality. Voluptuous feeling is given curiously free expression in the Indian culture. A strong sense of design is also typical of Indian ...
... art and can be easily noticed in its contemporary as well as in conventional forms.
India has given to the world many great artists. Some of the renowned Indian artists include M.F. Husain, Subodh Gupta, Vivan Sundaram, Jagannath Panda, Narayanan Ramachandran, Vagaram Choudhary, T.V.Santosh, Shreya Chaturvedi, Bhupat Dudi, Ranbir Kaleka, to name a few. The popular distinguished art forms and architecture in India include Ajanta & Ellora paintings, Rajput painting, Mughal painting, Kangra painting, Taj Mahal, Elephanta Caves, Khajuraho Temples, Konark Sun Temple, Sanchi Stupa, etc.
It is revealed by the results of a recent study that Indian culture and tradition is speedily moving towards the West, which is really a matter of consideration. In the present scenario, it is quite imperative to take concrete steps in the direction of saving and promoting the Indian art and culture. However, the efforts are on to save the Indian Art and Culture from extinction, but they are still not sufficient. More effort is required on part of the government and non-government organizations to prevent the situation from worsening. The work of an
Indian Art Academy would be very helpful in reviving the arts and crafts of India.
Lalit Kala Akademi is a famous government run Indian art academy that is contributing to the art and culture of India since 1954, and taking steps in the direction of nurturing Indian art and culture. This academy has a great contribution in the promotion of Indian art and culture. To know more about the academy, you may visit: http://lalitkala.gov.in/.
