Know Your Pipes: A Tobacco Smokers Guide

There are many different styles of smoking pipes you will see in smoke shops. Smoking pipes may refer to anything from a calumet, which is used by Native Americans, hookahs and glass water pipes, which filter and cool smoke through water, to traditional wooden tobacco pipes and a lot more. Using pipes is an old practice in almost every early culture and still is very popular today. Pipes are readily available in tobacco shops so you can buy a pipe in almost any color, size or style, from cheap glass pipes, to steamroller pipes to metal or wooden pipes.
When you choose your smoking pipe, one of the things to consider is the environment you will be smoking in. For instance, will you be smoking in a large group or alone? Will you be smoking at home or does your pipe need to be portable? Many smokers prefer the social experience of smoking in a large group. For these people, hookahs or glass water pipes are a good choice. They hold more tobacco than smaller hand pipes and are better suited to large groups. However, these types of pipe are larger and more difficult to store and transport. For those who want to be able ...
... to take their pipe with them places, smaller hand pipes are a better choice.
Common materials used for making smoking pipes are ceramic, plastic, glass, wood, metal, stone, and even porcelain. These materials all have different benefits and drawbacks. Their designs vary considerably depending on the artist crafting the pipe. Today, there are a lot of different methods for making pipes. Pipes can be made by machine, or hand carved from different types of wood. Glass blowers also make hand blown glass pipes with colorful designs in almost any size or shape.
Once you’re done with choosing what pipe to use, your next step is to identify how to properly use these smoking tools. If it is your first time on using a smoking pipe and you have chosen one of the more complicated styles, this may take some practice. Hookahs and water pipes are often difficult for first time smokers. Once you get the hang of the pipe you’re using, you can decide whether or not that particular style appeals to you.
The best way to choose what type of pipe to buy is to try each of the different styles to see which you like best. Many feel that the taste of the smoke changes depending on the style of pipe you use. Others insist that there is no taste difference and it is just a matter of aesthetics and convenience. For more information to visit us http://www.extremepipes.com
