Why Is Pond Cleaning Essential?

Maintains Water Quality

Regular cleaning of your pond helps balance the animal and plant life that’s thriving therein. It equally helps maintain quality of the pond water. According to Northampton Pond Cleaning services, any slight changes of plants and animals in the pond means the water balance is off, and algae (even muck or dirt) is at an all-time high, surging in growth.

Algae can choke the life of animals and plants in the pond if left unchecked. It suppresses not only the plants but also lowers the water quality. To control algae, grow plants such as water lilies as they’ll reduce the amount of sunlight algae receives. Algae solely depend on dissolved minerals, carbon dioxide and sunlight for growth.

Controls Pest

You may plant water lilies to control the growth of algae but sometimes they, too, can succumb to summer aphids. When aphids attack water lilies and other aquatic plants, they cause decay and discolouring of the water in turn affecting the water balance of the pond. Fortunately, you can seek help from Northampton Pond Cleaning services. They will help control any lurking pests.

While you can submerge the leaves of plants for a day to get rid of aphids or employ the use of a hose pipe to wash them away, seeking help from an expert service helps a lot in caring for the plants and controlling of the pests. That’s why Northampton Pond Cleaning Services come in handy.
