As a landlord with over ten years experience I find it downright bizarre the amount of property managers that are still trying to get along without something I consider to be a vital tool of our trade, property management software.

I switched from a manual system to a computer generated one so long ago now that I can't even count. Soon after that I used my years of experience to design landlord software that covers every need I could possibly have as a landlord. For those of you who are still not convinced here are my top reasons for swapping to property software for keeping your records as soon as you can.

1.Time: You people who are still doing your records manually have either learned a way to squeeze more than twenty four hours into every day or you have a genuine love of being stuck behind a desk doing paperwork. The problem with using your own system to do all the mundane recording tasks us landlords are stuck with is the fact that you are often doing similar (but very necessary things) over and over. 2.Money: It is a fact that such lettings software will save you money in so many different ways that they are too numerous to list here. But I will give you just a taste. First of all refer to number one, the old adage that time is money has never been truer than in the property management business. Second, your taxation records will be so pristine and accurate that your accountancy and probably tax bill will literally shrink. Every single deduction is effortlessly recorded with landlord software.

3.Space: How many of you still have old, metal, gray and hideously ugly filing cabinets cluttering your office. How many of you can still never find what you are looking for? Landlord software will solve all of this for you. Property management software will store all your data on your PC, which you no doubt have anyway, and allow access at the click of a button to any details or file you need. For those of you who are worrying about computer failure and data loss doesn't be such a technophobe! There are so many different ways to back up your data these days that it is no longer even an issue.

4.Sanity: I salute those of you who have managed to survive this long in the property business doing all these tasks by hand, how you have managed to hold onto your sanity is beyond me. But it is really not necessary, the property business is hard enough as it is, get your hands on some decent property management software today and make your life 10 times easier.

5.Reminders - If you have a sizable portfolio then reminding yourself when various policies, insurances, mortgages etc are going to expire can be a nightmare. But the right property software will give you the reminders when you need them!
