Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) scored a victory in the assembly polls for nine legislative assemblies in 2013. BJP swayed the polls in Rajasthan, New Delhi and in Madhya Pradesh with a huge number of seats. With the assembly polls, BJP stormed back to power in Rajasthan. Out of 200 seats, BJP took away 162 seats with ease. The victory has instilled a new enthusiasm within the party leaders and party workers. The victory Vasundhara Raje entitled her for the coveted post of the chief minister of the state.

Since the pre-election campaigns, the desert land was the ray of hope for BJP leaders as expectations were high. The pre-poll election survey assumed BJP to win over Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh with huge votes. With the declaration of the result on December 8, assumptions changed into a massive victory for the party and helped BJP oust other prominent parties like Congress with a great show.

The new CM, who just bagged power in the state, looks very active with the lineup of the new manifesto organized by BJP which aims to create 15 lakh jobs. The other pending 1 lakh recruitments will be cleared up soon ...
... and the next step of hiring will begin in the state. A committee comprising of five members has been formed by the new state government who will look into the matter and come up with suggestions to overcome the obstacles. The committee is due to submit its report by January 10. It is being headed by Additional Chief Secretary (School, Sanskrit, Higher and Technical Education) Dr Shyam S Agarwal. With the clearance of these obstacles, about 45 lakh applicants’ fate will be decided which was, till now, left in the lurch. Most of the jobs pending are from the education department.

Now that the state elections are over, BJP is now all set to conquer the Lok Sabha elections in 2014. To make the upcoming elections a success, the party workers and the party leaders are back into action and seem to be very focused with their work schedule. Vasundhara Raje has asked her party members to arrange an 11-point, 60-day agenda with the set plans that will be undertaken. She is very hopeful with this 60-day agenda strategy. She told the reporters in a press meet that her prime focus is to remove backwardness from the state and to place the state in the list of developing states of the nation. The Minister of Panchayati Raj and Rural development, Gulab Chand Kataria confirmed the news of 60-day agenda and also stated that everyone is ready with their set of work and duties that will be carried out in the following months.

On the other front, Congress after its humiliating defeat in Rajasthan seems to be out of words on how to grasp its defeat. Within one day of the results, it came up with the allegation of EVM being tampered and thus ended up by lodging a complaint with Election Commission of India. For now, the Congress party leaders want to forget the past and concentrate on the upcoming elections. They are hopeful that the Lok Sabha elections will not turn out to be like the last assembly polls and things will turn better in the next few months.
