Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s prime ministerial candidate stands as one of the strong contenders in the run up to the next Lok Sabha elections. As the election dates are approaching the news on various rallies and remarks have covered whole new section of news media. Modi famous for his strong words and for his deserving personality has caught the nerves of the mass with his electrifying speeches.

The chief minister of Gujarat has been ruling the state for about a decade and more which started in the year 2001. Gujarat has witnessed a lot of ups and downs during the tenure of these 12 years. The major event during that tenure was the Gujarat riot that had shocked the whole nation. It was in the year 2002 when a train with hundreds of passengers mostly including the Hindu pilgrimages was set on fire that ended up killing 58 people. With the spread of the news, assumptions were stroked making the Muslims the master minds of the incident. This set the Hindu-Muslim riot to take place all over the state of Gujarat. It killed almost 900 to 2000 people and damaged the civic lives of people to a great extent. ...
... Modi was held responsible for this communal riot and was also charged with conspiracy in the riot. The highest court of the country, Supreme Court of India constructed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the whole affair. After a long tenure of 11 years and lots of hard work, the court on December 27, 2013 finally gave its verdict. It handed over the clearance certificate to Modi who was held not guilty of the conspiracy charges in the riot.

Modi who is well acquainted with social media and knows how to use it to his advantage took the chance of expressing his grief over the Gujarat riots after the verdict was out. He, on his micro blogging site, stated that he was very badly affected by the whole incident and was shaken to the core. He never imagined that such an inhuman blame of conspiracy in the riot can be targeted over him. He was shattered with such charges and never thought anything as such could happen. The blog consisted of 1000 words. It reflected his state of mind over the whole scenario.

But critics and opposition may have got to smell the inner meaning of his blog. The Union Minister Kapil Sibal on Sunday attacked Modi saying that these are all for Lok Sabha elections and that it is too late for Modi to express his reactions. He even commented that the pain and agony stated by Modi in his blog is just to create and gain sympathy among the general citizens nationwide before the Lok Sabha polls of May 2014. With it he even added that Modi said he was shattered, but never said sorry or expressed any apology word throughout his entire blog which simply states that Modi wanted to draw affinity through his blog.

Thus, it would not be wrong to say that the opposition is making every possible way out to trump BJP before the next vital elections.
