Hiv Patients – Life Made Easier
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) unfortunately has rather become a common disease affecting many in India. Unlike other terminal diseases, people found with HIV have still got somewhat the reigns of their life in their hands. You have the power to control it and get the chance to lead a normal life. But life for the Siddha medicine for HIV patients has been anything but hard. People who test positive for this virus feel like they have just been handed a death sentence and give up hope on living their life normally. Much ignorance about this disease prevails to these days and these patients have always been looked down by the society.
Also the patients are not educated properly about how to live once they are tested positively for the virus. Some become so desperate that they contemplate to attempt suicide rather than dying a shameful death. This scenario should be changed to give these people a shot at their life. So, with the view of improving the quality of life led by the HIV patients, Sakthi’s Hospital And Research Centre (S.H.A.R.C.) is launching free services ...
... this coming June. The detailed brochure about the list of free services is expected to be released in the following weeks. It is speculated that the blood investigations including PCR done for the estimation of the viral load is going to be offered free for the patients.
The cost of PCR done for the estimation of the viral load has been costly these days and hence it’s raising the burden of the patients. Therefore this expected service of offering diagnostic tests at free of cost is expected to give patients some relief lessening their burden. This in particular is a big help because there are lots of HIV patients that don’t have the required money for undergoing such treatments and hence lead a normal life.
The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection is a global pandemic and has grown to an unprecedented magnitude. It is estimated that the average prevalence rate of HIV in adults in India is approximately 0.36%, and it accounts for 10% of the global HIV burden and 65% of that in South and South-East Asia. Counselling for HIV and AIDS is also a core important element in which psychological issues are recognized as integral to patient management.
Sakthi’s Hospital and Research Centre has been working in this direction for the past few years and are successful in the commencement of this noble service. It is also expected that they will be launching obesity clinic in and around Chennai. This will indeed make life easier for so many people.
