A saree (also spelt as sari) despite being an ancient outfit is still a favourite among women all over the world. This is because it lets the wearer decide whether it should make her look sensous, plain, traditional or gorgeous. If the classic saree is teamed with a well-fitted blouse or choli, the garment is sure to make heads turn.

These days Indian sarees are available in a variety of materials, like cotton, net, tissue, silk, chiffon, georgette, among many others. An appropriate material, style of draping and choice of prints and embellishments can be made keeping the occasion in mind. There are ustav sarees, stitched sarees, cocktail sarees, designer sarees online , lehenga sarees, bandhej sarees, art sarees and kanjeevaram sarees to choose from.

Each saree has its own advantages and distinct look. Every kind of saree is extremely beautiful in its own right. Just drape it well, carry it well and the woman is sure to look ravishing. Interestingly, the saree along with India, is extensively worn in neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, ...

A saree is usually of six meters and a few people also believe that a saree can be drapped in more than 80 ways! The most popular being the style where the woman starts tucking one end of the saree into the waistband of the petticoat. The cloth is then wrapped around the lower body once, then gathered to form pleats which are tucked into the middle of the petticoat. The remaining loose end of the saree covers the chest and is then rested on the shoulder. Other popular styles commonly worn include Bengali, Maharashtrian and Gujarati styles.

No matter how the sari is drapped, each style is known to glamourize the woman. A saree best suits Indian women because it looks best on a full, well-rounded body. A saree is said to conceal all the flaws of a woman and accentuate all the beauty in her. A woman with a few extra pounds should wear a saree in flowing material and should wear the garment really tight. On the other hand, slim women should opt for sarees with some body like silks and heavy embroidered pieces.
