This article will point out the difference between the providers Sky and Vonage, and why neither option is the ‘better’ one. It will explain how either provider can be more suitable to a certain audience so you can make a more educated decision on which one you should opt for.

Firstly, let's take a look at Sky and the home phone packages that are currently on offer. The biggest difference between a Sky home package and what Vonage has to offer is the broadband and Internet. Most of Sky’s packages include Wi-Fi or broadband teamed with Sky Line Rental or Sky Talk. Sky Line Rental on its own is from £14.50 a month, depending on which option you go for. There are 3 different packages that come with Sky Line Rental; Sky Broadband Unlimited, Sky Fibre Unlimited and Sky Broadband Lite.

With Sky Broadband Unlimited you will have access to the Sky Hub wireless router, inclusive weekend UK calls, 24/7 technical support assistance, 12 months free trail of McAfee Security Protection and inclusive and unlimited internet access. This deal costs a mere £7.50 a month when you take a Sky TV package with Sky Talk or Sky ...
... Line Rental.

Sky Fibre Unlimited has all of the same features but is £20 a month due to much more competitive speeds. This Sky home phone is available without a Sky TV package but you must take Sky Talk and Sky Line Rental from just £14.50 a month.

Sky Broadband Lite is designed for those who are not heavy users of the Internet but like to surf daily, email and catch up with friends. This packages is completely free when you take it with a Sky TV package of your choice, Sky talk and Sky Line Rental. You can access up to 2GB of data a month and will also receive a Sky Hub wireless router free of charge. You will be able to call for technical support 24/7 and have a 3 months free trial of McAfee Internet Security Suite.

As you can see, Sky caters for many different needs and with all the add-ons there’s nothing you can’t do. But is a Vonage home phone more suitable for your needs? Let's find out. Vonage works in a slightly different way to Sky but is a very interesting service that in the correct circumstances can save you a lot of many. If you live in the USA it can provide great convenience in communication.

A breakdown of what a Vonage home phone can offer is cheap international rates with sometimes-even options to call selected countries for free. Vonage routes your phone calls over your existing Internet rather than use a traditional telephone line. Although it uses the Internet to connect you via phone your PC or laptop doesn’t even need to be switched on.

The way Vonage works does not effect someone calling you – anyone can call your Vonage phone at any time, from any phone! Vonage works really well with GSM (cellular) networks and Wi-Fi. It provides you with unlimited international calling plans and also a pay as you go plan, with tremendously cheap rates.
