Leisure Mazda Bongo Engine

The Bongo Friend is the best unusually named van in Britain. It is a grey import, not ever having been sold outside Japan where it was built until 2000.The uplifting roof is a good piece of engineering. It lifts and drops electrically and was designed and manufactured by Mazda as original apparatus. Despite the point that all Bongos are more than six years old, there are rarely issues with the roof mechanism, or the electrical side window blinds. The 8 seater MPV has a lot going for it. The standard 2.5 litre turbo Mazda bongo engine diesel engine delivers more than enough power to drive the somewhat aerodynamic box along at comfortable and relaxed spinning speeds between 70 and 80mph, though above 80mph the fuel economy does suffer remarkably. But the advanced Japanese fuel filter system will adjust the use of refined or recycled vegetable oils and bio-fuels without any further modification.

Coming fitted with aircon as standard, many models also deliver strong power steering, electric front windows, electric sliding mirrors, and a practical rear-parking mirror that for once really helps. ...
... Those models who have the auto-free top raising roof often mention to the pure MPV version as the 'Bongo-low'. This is generally because the free top manifestation of the Bongo is a brilliant example of up-to-date camper vans. Not only does the roof lengthen to lodge a cubic sleeping compartment with availability of emergency exit, but the seats can also be bent down for another berth, making this the only feasible 4 berth camper van in the market. Competing with the VW and Mercedes products one would have to admit that the Japanese win the technology game.

There are also lots of great accessories offered for the vehicle, starting from the simple FM band convertor for the original and unique Japanese stereo, to after market armrests, space technology, beds, cup holders, drop in kitchens, entertaining systems and separate awnings. Someone owning a 4-berth canopy tent which can be used as kitchen area on extended long trips. These are very easy and handy to set up; most of those can be shopped on ebay. All in all the Mazda Bongo is much more reliable and spacious and airy than the earlier air-cooled VW campers, even more cheaper than the recent VW and Mercedes offerings, and can easily be attached with many of the gadgets and tools that are expected as ordinary in this modern age.

Mazda is also famous for the reliability and Bongo hasn't let the named own. The Mazda Bongo engine range is reliable and the car is safe to drive. Many of these vehicles have been converted and you should look out for low-end conversions as they are not only dangerous but slapdash. These cars have got gas and 240 volt main installations which need to be fitted according to safety regulations. The Bongo has awful residual values added to that are badly fitted conversions and awful seat belts. The Mazda Bongo 2.5 diesel turbo was the pick of engines but outrageous economy figures of 23mpg make it very costly. Don't go for the 2.0 petrol engine if you want to carry or tow heavy weight.
