Is the app worth it? Since worth it is a subjective term, my answer is based on my opinion, which is an absolute yes. Here's why.

Let's face it, when you're not at the office, employees aren't their most productive selves, and one of the things they do is arrive late. Since you're not there, they figure you'll not notice it. If you call, others will cover for them. A common tactic is to make a conference call to give you the impression that the absentee is at work. Employees are willing to cover for others because they will eventually want to do the same and will need the absentee to return the favor. This is perhaps the main reason why business owners buy this application. Dishonesty can take so many forms and employees will do their best to avoid being caught. For example, they may exaggerate their applications, steal office supplies, use company vehicles for their own purposes, use the company phone for long personal calls (sometimes long distance), search for a new job when they're supposed to be working. And of course, a few of them steal or commit fraud. But by getting access to their calls and text messages, you'll know who's a good employee and who deserves the boot.

3) It gives you the satisfaction of catching a bad employee red-handed and firing him.
At the beginning of the article I said that the term “worth” was subjective and this is proof of it. Not everything is about money. One of the greatest satisfactions this software gives you is that it allows you to call an employee into your office, tell him you know what he's been doing and that he's fired. That won't make you any money, but his face of surprise and shock at how you found out and getting rid of him will be priceless.
