One of the easiest ways to show that you have the necessary IT skills for a job is to have an accreditation to your name known as the ITIL accreditation. An ITIL certified candidate will be of high value to an employer, and the qualification is in very high demand. You will gain understanding of the common ITIL language, used and understood by IT professionals all over the world. You will also receive guidance in IT service management.

ITIL training courses can be taken on-site, or via virtual training or e-learning. The exam is optional, and if you are taking the course independently, you can take the exam either at a CSME exam centre, or via webcam. Classroom teaching will take place via your computer, through voice links, video streaming, slides, and other resources. You will also take part in workshops and classroom exercises live as if you were in the same room as your tutor. These tutorials can be recorded and played back.

ITIL courses are beneficial both for individuals and for organisations. For individuals, an ITIL qualification will greatly improve their chances of gaining employment in ...
... any IT occupation, whilst for companies, ITIL training courses will ensure that their employees are working with technology as efficiently as they can be, and to the highest standard, which can save huge amounts of money in the long run, especially in technology support costs. Employees will have better handling of change management, enabling the company to keep up with changes and even use them to its advantage.

Completion of the foundation course is often the bare minimum that is required on an IT job application. During the an on-site foundation course you will receive copies of all the slides used, all with space for you to make your own notes. You'll also receive handouts where necessary, plus a copy of the ITIL Glossary and Acronyms list, all of which you can refer back to in your own time to prepare for your exam. The cost of the course covers an ITIL handbook worth £10.95, which is the latest version of the handbook used with foundation ITIL courses, and the £100 cost of the final exam. You will complete sample exam questions, and will take part in mock exams to prepare you for the real thing. Throughout the day you will have access to lunch and refreshments.
