While the UK is one of the most powerful military powers in the world it is also one country that is on top of the hate list of many terrorist organizations. The UK along with the USA has been trying to bring peace to countries like Afghanistan and Iraq and there are people that are not happy about it. Hence there is this enhanced need for security across the country and also for British armed forces and soldiers of other nationalities stationed in the trouble prone areas of other countries. With enhanced C4ISR capabilities and satellite communication, the UK government has been strengthening both these areas in terms of security.

C4ISR or Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance are a set of innovative technological enhancements that ensures the security and stability of the nation. If you have heard about the drones and other UAS or Unmanned Aircraft Systems or UAV or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles you must know that their capabilities are managed by C4ISR.

As far as satellite communication is concerned, the major area of concern is the bandwidth use by the military. ...
... Satellites are up there aplenty but all their bandwidth is being consumed by the defence in the wake of all the security concerns the entire world is facing. As a result of this civilian and governmental services are getting hit. Hence there is a need for enhanced satellite communication. But launching a satellite and maintaining it is a very expensive proposition and one needs to know how to manage this well.

Collecting data is what is managed through C4ISR and satellite communication. Every second there are millions of bytes of data that get collected by the defence. Someone not acquainted with this process may question the need of collecting so much useless data but those that are connected with homeland security will tell you that it is all this data that is keeping the nation secure.

Budgets are tight and money is scarce when it comes to investing in C4ISR and satellite communication. Hence there is this increased requirement for innovation. Awareness of all these current and future technologies is also important even when you are remotely connected to these concepts. The UK government offers you various channels in the form of live and recorded seminars and you must go through them to see and hear what is happening in this space and how all the activities are enhancing the security of the nation.

Attend these sessions or listen to the recorded seminars and you will get to hear from some of the most well known government ISR technologists. They will tell you about all that is happening in the C4ISR and satellite communication spaces and the future plans. They will talk about budgets, projects and upcoming news in this domain. These seminars will help you plan and budget for your ISR requirements.
