Cinema 3D is so called because it is considered the closest you will get to the 3D you experience within the cinema, yet within your own home.

LG’s range of Cinema 3D TVs are designed with LG’s exclusive FPR, i.e. Film-type Patterned Retarder panel.

The FPR panel optimises the separation of images into an image for the left eye and another for the right. These two images are ‘filtered’ through the Cinema 3D glasses to create a 3D viewing experience.

According to Havis Kwon, President of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company, numerous studies have shown that of all the challenges facing 3D technology acceptance - the glasses always rank near the top.

With this in mind, LG joined forces with French eyewear designer Alain Mikli in 2010.

Kwon stated: “The fact is, 3D viewing glasses don’t have to be ugly and uncomfortable. We’ve just proven that with Monsieur Mikli’s help in creating what are probably the best, most stylish 3D glasses in the world.”

With over 30 years of experience, designer Alain Mikli has gained an international reputation by providing comfortable and stylish glasses.

Unlike the current 3D glasses made of plastic, LG and Mikli opted to make their 3D glasses from select metals, while also sticking to the French designer’s signature streamlined design.
