Putting all of the eye catching design and brand kudos to one side a major factor behind the huge popularity of the iPhone series is the user friendliness of the iPhone operating system, or as it is more simply known the iOS. The new iPhone 4 sports the very latest operating system that offers more benefits to the consumer than ever before.

Very often products or services fail to live up to their hype when it comes down to practical use. This is one fault that the new iOS4 does not suffer, Apple claims it is the most advanced system available and when you use the phone for the first time this fact becomes very apparent. The interface itself is both simple and intuitive and even if it is the first time you have picked up one of the phones you will find yourself operating the device easily in no time at all. This is because the developers have designed everything around the most natural movements of the human finger. Thus any area of the menu system that you require is only the matter of a simple flick or twist of the finger away. A new feature that has been incorporated is the new AirPrint facility. What this offers the ...
... user is the opportunity to print all manner of material without the need for cables or drivers, all you need is a compatible printer. Imagines the ability to wirelessly print tickets or reservations because you are running late, or if you have taken a great photograph and want a quick copy to give to somebody. Features such as this bring the modern day mobile much more in line with other portable devices such as laptops and netbooks.

The homescreen layout on the iPhone 4 has been improved and now offers more customisable options than ever before such as the option to add sub category folders in order to group similar features together, and also the ability to pin web pages directly to this page. This is particularly useful if there is a site or page you use regularly as it saves you needing to access the safari web browser. One of the main reasons that the software on this model integrates seamlessly with the Hardware is down to Apple being involved in the design and manufacture of both elements. A great example of where this may be advantageous is when it comes to developing individual applications the programme can be optimised to fully utilise features such as the Retina Display and the Three Axis Gyro sensor. Security is also a key factor on the iOS4 especially as much of the phone usage may actually be online. It supports the most advanced data encryption methods available so you can be safe in the knowledge that your valuable data and details are safe.

The excellence of this operating system is perhaps the key factor behind the massive success these models have enjoyed and the iPhone 4 looks to continue this trend.

The iPhone 4 and the HTC Sensation are available now.
