Unlocking Phone – Safety

Unlocking phones brings with it a sense of insecurity about the safety of your mobile phone. You probably would be wondering if unlocking mobile phones are a safe thing to do. Here’s the deal. Phones are designed with unlocking in mind. In fact, selling a phone in the UK that can’t be unlocked is not strictly allowed by Ofcom. Having said this, not all methods used to unlock handsets achieve this in the way the manufacturers intended. As a rule of thumb, if you’re typing in a series of codes to unlock your phone this is likely to be a safe method. As soon as you connect your device to a machine or software built by a third party you run the risk of changing settings deep within the phone which may affect its usability. Finally, as the case of unlocking SIMs shows, attempting this practice may involve physical damage to your SIM and your phone, rendering then unusable or in urgent need of repair/replacement. While unlocking is not illegal, it may be dangerous!
Secondly, you must be wondering how expensive it is going to be to unlock your mobile phone. Mobile phone unlocking costs anything between £0 to a few hundred ...
... pounds. The factors that matter are what your phone is, what network your phone is locked with and how quickly you want it unlocked.
Professional unlockers use many techniques to unlock mobile phones. One of the most commonly used technique is the practice of using a ‘SIM unlocking attachment’ or Turbo SIM. These are tiny sleeves you place between your SIM and your phone, that ‘trick’ your phone into thinking your SIM card belongs to a different network.
How is it possible for something to fit in there? I hear you ask… These devices are surprisingly thin and older Turbo SIM models require you to cut your SIM in order to make this possible. However, it is by no means a comfortable fit even if you pull this off. Getting the device in there is notoriously fiddly but can be done. Because it’s such a tight fit, we hear accounts of people who’ve damaged their phones and/or SIM card readers in the process when using this method, so do bear this in mind. There are also reports regarding their reliability, and additional configuration may be required.
Other techniques such as unlock codes, softwares, cables etc are also used. The unlockers must figure out the best possible combination to unlock your mobile phones and who better than professional, registered unlockers.
