One can definitely say that the iPhone killer that everybody was waiting for came in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S, but even by the extraordinary standards set by this incredible phone, it could not match the features that are expected on the new iPhone 5. Hence, Samsung has set about working on the replacement model for the Samsung Galaxy S that will be available before the launch of the iPhone 5. It was previously rumoured to be present in this phone, but Samsung has confirmed that it has been increased in order to fight off the competition. The increase in the processor has been met with the corresponding increase in the operating system versions as well. It is now running the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, although it will not be available with the 2.3.4 version that will feature the video calling update. Given the humongous power at the disposal of the phone, it will be only a matter of time before this version arrives to the phone as well.

The Samsung Galaxy S II will come with an eight megapixel camera that will feature the option to record videos in the full HD 1080 p mode for the first time in a Samsung phone. This is a major option, but will it have the sufficient features to hold off the threat from the same eight megapixel unit going to be used in the iPhone 5? The answer seems to be a resounding yes since it has most of the features of the high-end digital cameras. The Samsung Galaxy S II is going to be available from May onwards in the UK.
