The recently released Sony Ericsson Xperia Play has had plenty of media coverage and reviews regarding its capabilities as a gaming phone. Flash Lite is also provided, and this allows embedded videos and games to be viewed and played.

Internet Browsing
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play comes with a full HTML browser (with Flash Lite) which takes advantage the internet connection which is provided by either 3G or Wi-Fi. The latter offers the fastest connection whenever users have access to local wireless networks. 3G however, offers more coverage, and means that users do not have to be near a Wi-Fi network to enjoy decent browsing speeds.

Multimedia
Multimedia functionality plays a big part in the appeal of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. Numerous video and music file formats are supported, and thanks to a pre-installed 8 GB microSD slot (upgradeable to 32 GB) users can easily store their entire digital music collection on the phones. For many, this will eliminate the need to carry a standalone MP3 player. For music fans, the TrackID app is also pre-installed. This allows users to identify unknown tracks simply by activating the application and holding it near a speaker. It will search its database of music tracks and display the details when it finds a match.
