A tired, stress filled weekend has just come to an end. The real world is tough. The real world is so not what you want to be part of for the weekend. And so you turn to another world. A world filled with fun and fantasy, a world filled with wonder and amazement, a world of virtual reality. The world we have come to call the 3D virtual world.

And such a wonder filled world it is. Growing as it is in leaps and bounds as technology advances and gets better. Whether it be a movie to catch in the theatre or that amazing new game to play in the comfortable confines of your home the 3D virtual world has become our new haven of fantasy. Perhaps the main reason that it has such a huge audience and such great scope of growth, is the fact that despite all our need to escape from reality we just love that escape to feel as real as possible. It takes us back into our childhood is my take on it. That secret wish we all had to be there with our fiction heroes as they climbed, fought and danced or in my case the wish to be part of the ‘mad hatters tea party’, they all find their chance to be lived out now. ... the thrill that runs through my husband’s veins as he takes the console and gets into his car. Vroom, screech, thump, race, he has so much fun and I feel so glad to see his stress fade away in the back ground.

Well of course, taking anything too far can again impact wrongly. But right now we just want to speak about the good things. The fact that it’s our escape from our Monday to
Friday routine. Our reason to come home and throw our feet up in the couch and settle in to being part of our heroes world, or as in many cases, to be the hero of the virtual world. Yes its possible now, because the dimensions have gotten better, the techniques improving everyday keeping us waiting with baited breath for the next thing. The virtual world of 3D has just gotten better and may it go far for the sake of our childhood dreams.
