If you are new to magic the gathering, you first need to understand the basics of the game. Just like any other game, basics are what make you able to understand how to play the game.

Starting the game

The cards

Cards in magic the gathering are divided into two types;
 Spells
 Lands

These cards provide mana, or a magical energy for the spells. You have the option of laying out a land a turn and use it as soon as in the play. To get mana from the land, as the land by turning it's ideas, that's where the magic the gathering becomes more interesting. The land is classified into 5 parts each of them producing a different color.

The color chart

Blue magic: mental energy is what thrives the blue magic, and utilizes elemental forces of water and air. The tradition foils are green and red.

Black magic: this will thrive on death and decaying, with the traditional foils being green and white.
Green magic: it will find life from forest. It can either bring destruction or peace. It's traditional foils being black and blue.

Red magic: these are the magic of fire and the earth. Magicians of the red will specialize in violence of combat and chaos, with the foils being white and blue.
