David Keene Endorses The Tea Parties

David Keene's article on TheHill, Elitists Must Swallow Tea, was a very good analysis of the tea party groups and the knee-jerk reaction of the leftist establishment to the nascent movement.

What I found more interesting than David's insightful analysis though, was that he came out publicly in support of the tea party movement. David wrote:

"They may be new to politics, but they seem to know what they are doing, and their enthusiasm and sincerity have endeared them to many voters the politically savvy hoped would be offended by the movement."

David is the chairman of the American Conservative Union, a 45-year old conservative organization which hosts the annual Conservative Political Action Conference. David is a political heavy-weight, and a person who is clearly putting his livelihood at risk by endorsing the tea parties.

No one knows what effect the tea parties will have in the next few years. They could destroy the Republican Party in an effort to save it. The Tea Parties could hand the 2012 elections to the Democrats by withholding their support from ideologically weak Republican candidates. ...
... They could embarrass themselves nationally and be swept from the spotlight due to mistakes on the part of just one or two of their members. Endorsing the tea parties at this time is a step which very few career politicians have been willing to make.

This county wasn't made great by pusillanimous putzes who were afraid to speak their minds; this country was made great by free men who were willing to risk their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor in order to do what they knew to be right.

Our hat's are off to you Dave! All it will take is a few million more Americans with your foresight and your courage to turn this country around and restore the vision of our nations founding fathers.
