Having lunch boxes at home familiarises your child with opening and closing them. They need to get into action before school starts to become independent and do things by themselves. Secondly, you can divide their food for the breaks so that they do not finish everything in one go. Here are some ways to pack food:

Introducing new food

You can pack your kid’s tiffin by slowly introducing a new food. Packing one new food amongst what your child likes is a great way to offer variety. You should measure the quantity your child eats, not feeling pressured to eat the food they do not like. You can also call your child to the kitchen and ask them to write a shopping list to select the nourishment for their tiffin.

Tiffin

Analyse your child’s appetite. If your child does not overeat, then choosing small lunchboxes online or in stores helps reduce the wastage of food. If required, you can send food in different containers in a small lunch box. The choice depends on what your kid enjoys. For example, if they love yoghurt, you can select a lunch box with separate sections for wet and dry foods.

You can pack the food in dedicated compartments in school bags so that your child can find it easily during their break. You get insulated lunch bags and bottles in the market to keep the food safe, healthy, fresh, and hot. The bottle keeps the water cool even on sunny days and prevents your child from dehydration.

Things to pack

You usually require something to hold the books, food, and other items while shopping for school bags online. They should be spacious and have a dedicated tiffin compartment where you can pack one main item like sandwiches, wraps, etc., one or two savoury snacks like cheese crackers, two vegetable or fruit options, and one sweet.

These foods are rich in carbohydrates, proteins, fibre, and fat that keep the tummies full and the brain engaged. You also find a separate section to keep the water bottle.

Quantity

Another tip is cutting the food into manageable portions inside the lunch boxes to eat quickly. Break times are short, and your child often prioritises play over food. For example, you can cut wraps into small portions for your child to eat without wasting their playtime.
