Wpt500 Las Vegas: Nikita Luther And Nipun Java Make Final Table Finishes
The event witnessed a total of nine starting flights over the span of eight days of gruelling action. Each starting flight was played down to the final 5% of the day’s entries with the ultimate 12.5% of each flight cashing out.
The event attracted a huge 3,541-entry field creating a colossal prize pool of $1,771,000. Besting the opposition was Jon Borenstein who bagged $230,000 for his finish.
A multitude of Indians proved their mettle in the event running deep and some even succeeded in leading individual starting flights.
Indian poker pro Nikita Luther reached Day 2 through the Day 1B flight and was behind Sapra at third place in chips. The female pro went on to make the final table as the chip leader and eventually ended fifth for a career-best prize of $65,000. Luther, along with several other Indian pros, are notable for their prowess playing card games in India.
Nipun Java also held the chip lead of Day 1F with 661,000. The WSOP bracelet winner reached the final table too! Java was eyeing another big win to his portfolio but unfortunately went out at seventh place with $35,000.

The first elimination of the day arrived on the very first hand of play with Christopher Bonita departing at ninth place which was followed by Antonio Scalzi in eighth place.
The very next hand witnessed a three-way all-in pot where Joep Raemaekers opened to 625,000 and action shifted to Nipun Java who went all-in after struggling for a while holding . Jon Borenstein made the call with and the initial raiser Raemaekers also called tabling . The board revealed gave a pair of kings to Borenstein who shipped the massive pot railing Java at seventh place.
Next to exit was Brian Gorman followed by previous day’s day chip leader Nikita Luther.
Luther had a phenomenal run on Day 2 and was looking to go all the way but lost a big pot early on when her Ace-four fell short to Remarkers’s Ace-king. The last hand for the female pro saw her going all in with and Raemaekers instantly called holding . Luther was seeking a flush on the flop but the turn and river didn’t help her cause and she left the event in fifth place for her career-best finish.
The pace of eliminations slowed gradually once the event was down to just four-handed play.
The final three agreed to a deal based on their chip totals and when the dust settled it was Jon Borenstein who walked away with the title and $230,000 for his efforts.
