The Sony Ericsson Partnership

Sometimes combining the best of two worlds is the only way to go: milk and cookies, Jack and coke, women and shoes. One of the most fruitful partnerships has to be Japanese consumer Electronics Company, Sony, and Swedish mobile phone producer Ericsson.
They first jumped into bed together in 2001 and haven''t looked back since. Ericsson took the role of the outdated, rather unattractive older male, while Sony was the hot, young and progressive female. They overcame initial problems quickly and the relationship grew from strength to strength.
It wasn''t until 2005 however, that Sony Ericsson hit the limelight, but it did it to the sweet sound of music. The launch of the Walkman phones projected the partnership to new heights as it because the first music-centric series of mobiles phones, prompting a whole new market for portable music, and rumoured to be a case study for Apple''s iPhone.
Success continued the next year with the launch of the Cyber-shot branded line of phones. These technology-ridden beauties included high-quality cameras with flashes and auto-focus, once again raising the bar in mobile technology. ...
... Now you could call, text, take pictures and listen to music all on one palm-sized gadget and it looked a lot better than its competitors too. It won over the youth market with ease.
It did however face a new challenge in 2007 as Apple launched its super successful iPhone. This meant all competitors, including Sony Ericsson, had to work harder to win back market share.
Sony Ericsson are now offering up the Satio as competition to the latest iPhone 3GS. Backed by a multi-million pound advertising campaign in an effort to win consumers back from the dark depths of Apple and Samsung, the phone boasts ''unlimited entertainment'' capabilities.
The phone has also been getting some excellent reviews and lives up to its ''unlimited entertainment'' hype.
Walkman and Cyber-shot technology is combined to perfection in a stylish touch-sensitive device. It has an amazing 12.1 megapixel camera and a 3.5 inch screen to view your pics on, high-quality sound from its mp3 player, it also has GPRS, 3G and all today''s ''as standard'' functions such as Bluetooth, quadband and video calling.
