Memories On Track
A hundred miles of journey
I like trains, I like their rhythms and I like the freedom of being suspended between two places, all anxieties of purpose taken care of: for this moment I know where I am going
– Anna Funder, Stasiland
Paper boat has always been about nostalgia and giving a taste to it. In its latest commercial, the brand continues the trend. But this time by paying a tribute to the Indian Railways, Paperboat makes everyone revisit their long train journeys.
Labeled My First Train Ride, the advert takes on the tone of Malgudi Days, showing the train journey through the eyes of a young child. He talks about how the train has a life of its own, full to the brim with strangers who become familiar. As the train winds through territory unchartered before, the child keeps on looking at everything in awe. The brand intricacies are found in the small gestures built into the ad, for example; the picked guava shared by everyone.
The train journey becomes a story for the kid.For those who travel frequently with their families by train, this is surely a memorable ride.
