Parkchester Apartment Community In The Bronx Has Ties To Fatal Stabbing

Zakir Khan, the recent victim of a fatal stabbing, has several Parkchester condos listed for sale on his website. A few of the apartments in the Bronx Parkchester community include 1946 E Tremont Ave, 2220 E. Tremont Ave, 1420 Wood Road, and 2240 E. Tremont Ave.

I read a “feel good” story that was posted on his real estate website about the success that Khan had after entering the US in 1993 from Bangledeshi. The original article was written in 2012 by a member of the New York Daily News. The article tells the story of Khans humble beginnings flipping Burgers at the Burger King near the Parkchester oval to the point of his successful real estate venture.

Khan started his real estate company in 2002, and over time acquired a nine person staff. The article reports that all 9 members of the real estate company own homes in the Parkchester community. After several years of running his real estate company, Khan recently ran into financial difficulty had had to shut his doors.

Mahran had started an eviction process to remove Khan and his family from the residence after they fell 9 months behind on the rent. The fatal stabbing took place in late February, after Khan had received an extension from the court.
Khan leaves behind a wife, and three children. Mahran is currently being charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.
