Astigmatism is an imperfection or defect in the spherical curvature of the cornea, resulting in distorted visions. In this common refractive error, the light enters the eye but does not focus on the retina evenly. As the light fails to evenly blend into the eyeball, naturally the vision gets blurred. In astigmatism, the eyeball is shaped like a spoon’s back or a football. Therefore, the light that enters the eyes bends more in a particular direction. As a result, while seeing a distant object, a person’s vision may get wavy or blurry. However, there’s no need to worry anymore, as astigmatism treatment in India helps to cure this defect of vision completely.

Astigmatism can happen after an eye surgery, or eye disease or any kind of eye injury. This type of astigmatism is called irregular astigmatism and is quite rare. In most cases, people are generally born with astigmatism. This kind of astigmatism is called regular astigmatism which is quite common in people. Excessive squinting, blurred vision, headaches and eyestrain are some of the most common symptoms of astigmatism. If you suffer from any of the symptoms, ...
... then it's best to consult with your doctors. If diagnosed with astigmatism, a doctor will suggest you astigmatism treatment based on your condition.

Depending on this eye disorder's degree and state, the treatment for this may vary. In the majority of the cases where the patient is suffering from mild astigmatism, he or she is generally treated with toric lenses or glasses. The corrective lenses work to bend the light more in the direction than other directions. Though these glasses and contact lenses help to correct the vision difficulties caused by slight astigmatism; they do not provide any cure to the abnormal formation of the cornea. In more severe cases your eye doctor may suggest opting for the rigid contact lens or a surgery.

When it comes to treating irregular astigmatism, then the refractive or laser surgery is the best astigmatism treatment available. This surgery is performed to reshape the cornea, making it more spherical than before. Once the shape and curvature of your cornea are repaired, you'll be able to see all the near and distant objects clearly, as light will refract evenly inside the eye. As there are various types of refractive surgeries, you need to consult with your eye doctors to know which type will be the right one for you.

Astigmatism can affect both, adults and kids at any ages. It is even possible to have mild astigmatism and not knowing about it. Therefore, it’s important that you have detailed eye examinations in a regular interval to detect early signs of astigmatism. With various kind of astigmatism treatment in India being available now, astigmatism is no longer a threat!
