3 Free Tools To Help Manage Your Online Reputation

Keeping tabs on your online reputation is a necessary part of online business and marketing these days. Missed complaints or questions can snowball into larger problems fast.
With so many people talking, and so many places for them to talk, it can be difficult to keep up and act quickly. Between social media, forums, review sites and blogs, the task of keeping track of who’s saying what can turn into a full time job of it’s own.
To help you get a handle on your online reputation management, here are some great tools that will cut out some of the extra legwork and get your reputation, and your response times, moving up.
UberSuggest
UberSuggest is promoted as a keyword research tool, but can also be used to help you figure out what people are searching for when they type your name into Google.
As you probably know, Google uses an autocomplete feature when you start typing a search string into the Google search box. The search suggestions that come up in that autocomplete form are similar searches run by other people.
If you put your brand or name into UberSuggest, it will scan those ...
... autocomplete lists that turn up on Google and give you a complete list, in alphabetical order. You’ll be able to see what words people are commonly combining with your name when they search. This alone should give you an idea if you’ve got any major problems going on. Also, by checking on some of the search results for the terms that come up, you’ll have a good view of where people end up, and what they are saying when those searches are run.
SocialMention
SocialMention works just like a search engine. Put in the term that you want to find, such as your brand name, and this handy tool will scour the Internet looking for mentions of that term.
It will, of course, return mentions on all of the major social networks as well as blogs, Q & A sites and others. Results are surprisingly detailed for a free tool. It will let you know if what it finds is overall positive or negative and give you plenty of other metrics to help you decide what, if anything, needs your immediate attention.
Google Alerts
One of the easiest to use, and yet most often overlooked free tools for keeping up with your reputation. Google Alerts allows you to set things up so that you’ll be alerted when new content pops up on the web containing specific words or phrases.
Set up alerts for your name, your company’s name, the name of a product, or anything else that’s relevant to your business. When Google comes across anything new, you’ll be alerted so that you can check it out and see if it’s something that needs your attention.
These three tools should help you to keep an eye on what people are saying about you or your brand. They are a good place to start, but at some point, as your brand grows, you’re probably going to outgrow these tools too. For now though, I hope they make things easier for you.. http://goo.gl/1879fa
