Porcelain Bathroom Tiles

Porcelain tiles are perfectly suited to the bathroom setting and will not only improve the look of a bathroom but also its maintenance and ability to stay clean and shiny. Tiles have many advantaged over other wall decorating, being less absorbent than paint meaning they're far easier to clean; whether you're wiping off water, toothpaste or some other indistinguishable fluid, just simply wipe them down with a cloth and most things will rub right off. At the same time this sheen will mean they're less likely to grow mould for example. This all means that the bathroom will not only benefit initially from installing tiles on the walls, but that it will also benefit in the long run as they stay cleaner and shinier for longer (it also means you don't need to worry about splashing or splattering while washing and brushing your teeth and don't need to be quite so strict with the kids).
The tiles do have their disadvantages though. While they may be easy to keep clean they do have other maintenance challenges. For example they are easy to chip or crack and knocking or bumping them could easily ruin individual tiles. It will then ...
... be necessary to find that specific tile if you want to repair the look, thought it's possible they will have gone out of production (make sure that you always have a few spares when you buy them initially). If the tiles are part of a larger complex pattern then you may even need to be even more specific when finding your replacement. Porcelain tiles also have the danger of allowing dust to collect in between them (where they are cemented together) as well as potentially mould. While cleaning the tiles themselves then is easy, cleaning between them can be more tricky and may require some scrubbing. This problem is then exacerbated if you do have cracks and chips in the tiles that you have yet to deal with. Occasionally going around with a toothbrush and scrubbing the cracks is a good way to solve this problem, as is ensuring that your tiles are spaced as closely together as possible - and it's not even necessary to include gaps at all. At the same time tiles are not the best insulators, and if your bathroom suffers from being a bit chilly this may be a problem.
Porcelain tiles have been around a long time and have changed with the trends. While cream and salmon tiles were commonly found a decade or two ago, and tiles with pictures of ducks or flowers; today you are far more likely to find plain white tiles or plain grey or black. This is all in keeping with a minimalist look that's become popular lately and works well with a walk in shower, minimalist taps and other trappings of modern design. Of course for those looking to have a more old-fashioned or traditional looking bathroom the beige, green and duck-covered tiles are still available, meaning that from a style perspective porcelain tiles also come up trumps and are as versatile as you could hope.
Most property developers will buy wholesale porcelain tiles due to the large volume needed. These are often imported directly, such as the porcelain tiles melbourne based supplier.
