NFL lines. They move, they get set too high or low. Who knows how the guys (so-called professionals) in Vegas set them? I once won a bet on an NFL game because one team turned a fake field goal into a touchdown, and the other team missed an extra point! I also lost one when a sure favorite scored only three points in the first half. Luck is involved, sure, but NFL lines have to be understood.

NFL lines are set to appeal to bettors on both teams. They are set so that you probably feel that you have a chance to win with either team. Vegas likes to protect itself. NFL lines are affected by lots of factors other than the skills of each team--weather, injuries, travel, stadium field conditions and more. You have to take some time to examine why you think the NFL lines were set as they were. An injury to a key player during that week's practice? One team being fired up and ready to pull an upset? There are many factors that can affect NFL lines.

Pick a team that you think has a good chance to win. Then decide if they can "cover" the NFL line. They might be good enough to win, but will they win by 7 points? Another team ...
... may be lousy, but may lose by just three points. So, it's not enough to decide who will win. You have to consider the NFL line.

And, as they say, bet with your head. Don't just choose your favorite team, or one that you just "feel" will win. You might get lucky, but it's a science betting with NFL lines. Take some time, talk to people, study the team's performance. And, have some fun with it! You may win or lose, but you can always enjoy watching the game. That's got to beat slots and other boring games.
