Camilo Villegas is aiming to build on a successful 2008 on the PGA Tour in which he won back-to-back titles at the BMW Championship and The Tour Championship.

Villegas, a Colombian and product of the University of Florida, also finished second in the FedEx Cup Series behind Vijay Singh and secured his place in the top ten of the world rankings.

This year Villegas again intends to devote much of his time to the PGA Tour though he has taken out affiliate membership of the European Tour.

'I believe I've done everything in a good pace and I try to improve every year - that's my main goal. I believe that when I played the Tour in 2006 and 2007 I was a better player; 2008 I was a better player, and that's my goal for 2009.' said Villegas.

'It was very gratifying to see the two wins happening at the end of the year to position myself in a better spot in the world rankings with my golf equipment and to increase the challenges ahead of me, because that's what happens when you play good.

'You've got to challenge yourself more and you've got to improve ...
... and get even better and live up to it.'

Villegas, who uses a Cobra L4V X driver and Cobra Speed LD fairway woods, is also excited about being involved in the European Tour's Race to Dubai.

'People think I play the European Tour because of the Race to Dubai but it's not true,' he
said.

'I've always wanted to be a world player. The problem is that when you're not top 50 in the world, it's tough to set a schedule. You don't have those seven tournaments that count both ways and you have to put you priorities in order.
'But the great finish last year, getting myself in the top 50, it changed things a little bit, so I decided to make a move. It happened to be that the Race to Dubai started the same year and I'm really excited about it.'

Though Villegas uses mostly Cobra clubs his putter of choice is a specialised version of the Titleist by Scotty Cameron Circa '62 #6.The putter is heel-toe weighted with a back flange that is shaped like a B and is made from German stainless steel.
