Vitamins are the organic food substances or nutrients we can find only in living things, plants, animals as well. We can dived vitamins into two main classes, first is water-soluble vitamins and second is the fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamin B12, biotin, B6,Folic acid, niacin, thiamin, riboflavin,vitamin C are the examples of water-soluble vitamin and Vitamins A, D, E, and K are group of fat-soluble vitamin. We must know that vitamins and minerals aren't energy source,they have no calories.
We just need to consume vitamins in small amounts, but low consume can lead to chronic also acut disease. Every vitamin has the specific function such as vitamin A, helps maintaining bone and soft tissue, there are vitamin B6, called pyridoxine, to help the body use the protein. Vitamin B6 also helps red blood cells formation and brain function maintenance. Vitamin B12 helps maintenance of the central nervous system. Vitamin C, ascorbic acid, is kind of antioxidant that promotes healthy teeth, maintain healthy tissue,etc. There are vitamin D, known as sunshine vitamin because body produces vitamin D after exposure to sunlight. ... D promotes the absorption of calcium in the body, essential for developing and maintaining health teeth & bones. And then vitamin E, known as tocopherol, helps the body use vitamin K,etc. Vitamin K doesn't appear in the list of essential vitamins but without it blood wouldn't clot.
Niacin is a vitamin B complex which helps maintain healthy skin also has effects on cholesterol lowering. There are Folat, works with vitamin B12, helps red blood cells formation and necessary for producting DNA, whics controls tissue growth also cell fuction. For pregnant woman must consume folat in adequate amount, to prevent from birth defect such as spina bifida. Give attention for this.. :-)
