This technique is basically of geometric in form. Here, frame work and interlacing is the perfect combination for the best results.
For that, weavers make stitches based on frame works. There are two types of foundation frame works such as Herringbone stitch and Cretan stitch. Finally, with interlacing techniques, this frame work will be completely filled.
Kutch embroidery is bright, bold and colourful. It is usually done on fabrics like silk, wool, cotton and others. Indigo, black, deep red, yellow and ivory are the major colours used by the weavers.
To create elaborated patterns, major motifs involved in this work are human figures, temples, hurmitch, and Persian and Mughal arts. Along with them, basic motifs such as floral designs, panels, geometric images, and animal and fruit designs are also involved. Embroidery of this work uses mirrors, beads, stones, butis and etc.
