The Best Events In Steamboat Springs For 2014
The 34th annual Yampa River Festival will be held on May 30 and 31, 2014. It's intended to boost knowledge about conserving and guarding the Yampa River in north-west Colorado which is 270 miles long and the one and only free-flowing river in the Colorado Basin. This event offers a weekend of excitement for the whole family and includes downriver and slalom races, an activity zone only for children, freestyle competitions, events featuring dogs and a lot more. Everybody is also invited to join in the tube race. The event kicks off at 8 AM on May 30th and ends at 5 PM on May 31, 2014.
The 33rd Annual Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K will take place on June 1, 2014 with a start time of 7:30 AM. Participants get to run along the Elk River through the lush green pastures on Country Road surrounded by the snowcapped Rocky Mountains. You'll easily discover why this celebration is rated one of the "Top 10 Destination Marathons in North America." The 26th Annual Mustang Round Up is scheduled to be held between June 12 and June 15, 2014 and the event is free for spectators. More than 400 Mustang owners from the many Colorado Mustang Clubs will gather in Steamboat Springs for a weekend of fun events for the entire family including Scenic Mountain Tour, Autocross and Show 'n Shine Car Show. Spectators who wish to watch should go to the Meadows parking lot at the corner of Mt. Werner Road and Pine Grove Road for Friday's Autocross. More than 180 vehicles are expected to compete. The Show n' Shine car show will be held on Lincoln Ave in downtown Steamboat Springs and cars will be scored on cleanliness, quality and also workmanship.
The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series will take place every Friday and Saturday evening starting with June 13, 2014 at 7:30 PM at Romick Rodeo Arena. You get to see the best cowboys in Colorado and Wyoming riding several of the craziest horses and bulls and there will also be special activities for kids. The night starts with live entertainment in addition to a BBQ dinner at 6 PM. Tickets are priced at $20 per adult and $10 per child aged 7 or older.
