I love technology and everything new and innovative. I like to try to get my hands on as many subjects and activities as I possibly can. Not only does it make my life more interesting, but it's also to do new things! Recently I tried out powerkiting. This is a REALLY fun thing to try out if you want to do something fun, but also more on the sporty side. First off powerkiting is a large kite designed to provide significant pull to the user. They come in three main forms: foils, leading edge inflatables and Supporting Leading Edge.

There are also rigid-framed kites and soft single skin kites. There are several different control systems used with these kites which have two to five lines and a bar or handles. There are also different kinds of kites such as land and water. I decided that I wanted to go farther in this sport so I started looking at the different "kites" available. Offline I couldn't really find what I wanted, I'll be honest. Even stores that I thought would have good choices - either didn't have the product I wanted or they were incredibly expensive.

So I decided to do what I always do when I can't ...
... find something offline; I look online!! You can really find some spectacular products like the HQ power kites - which is one of the newest additions to this sport. The HQ power kite is the first and only water relaunchable trainer kite. Extremely stable and easy to fly, this closed cell ram-air foil has no bladders to inflate or replace, yet it floats on water. A third line provides the safety system and the ability to reverse launch, making it perfect for use with absolute beginners.

The Hydra flies great in low winds and generates plenty of pull for bodydrags when the wind is strong. Offline these HQ kites cost up to $1,000. But online? I found the HQ kite for just under $300. This is why I say it is absolutely necessary to look both online and offline. Offline, you won't have to pay for shipping and handling, however, on a lot of these sports sites (and other kinds of sites) you will find specials such as 50% of products, or free shipping and handling if you buy X amount of dollars worth of products.

One site I found had a free shipping and handling option on all orders over $75 domestic U.S, Europe and the U.K! That right there is a terrific special that someone such as yourself could look into. The products online versus offline are of good quality as well. I mean obviously you will find places online and offline that don't offer "quality" items, but for the most part if it looks legit; it is legit. If you are worried? I would suggest emailing them and calling them to make sure it's the real thing. Heck, you could even do review searches online and see what people say about their company and products!
