Some of the common symptoms of earache are loss of strength in the ear muscles, pain in the head region and giddiness along with inflammation in and around the ears. Nagging pain in the ears can also be counted as a symptom. The development of earache can be felt slowly with peculiar sounds of buzzing and ringing followed by blocked ears, inflammation, fever, and loss of hearing and certain numbness in the ears. Pain in some cases may be severe.
Although, it is fair enough to try home made methods for curing earache, it is necessary to call a doctor if the symptoms persist. Most doctors prescribe antibiotics for earaches that offer relief from pain in children if the illness is severe, but they also reason out whether antibiotics are required or not before prescribing them for the patients. Pain in ears is often caused by damaged ear drums while practicing flying or diving and when an unidentified object is used to clean the ears.
If you are suffering from frequent ear infections, consulting a doctor is beneficial. The doctors usually prescribe ...
... or medicines in order to stop the earache from getting worse. With damaged or split in the ear drum, pain may not occur and you must consult the doctor in such situations. In many cases, earache is cured automatically and sometimes, anti-steroidal or anti-inflammatory drugs are also used for treating earaches. If the intensity of pain or other symptoms increase within one or two days, proper care and medication is required after consulting a medical practitioner.
This is necessary because the doctor helps to determine whether the pain is due to infection or not. The advice of a specialist doctor may also be required if the pain dose not stop even after consuming the medicines prescribed by the physician or if there is fever above 101 degrees. Moreover, ear infections are usually caused when fluid build-up inside the ears persists for more than a month. Under such circumstances, the child must undergo a hearing test.
If a child speaks in an excessively loud voice, it must be ascertained whether there is pain or infection in the ears. Earache can be cured with normal treatment; however, if there is frequent accumulation of fluid in the ears behind the ear drums, surgery is suggested by doctors. Earache should never be overlooked rather a doctor should be consulted for proper treatment.
