Pharma Is Wholesaler And Suppliers In India
Pharma Wholesale concerns with supply of quality and affordable supply of drugs to retailers. In India there are close to 50,000 pharmaceutical wholesalers who are linked to about 6, 00,000 retailers. This leaves a huge scope of competition on regional and national level amongst all the wholesalers in the domestic market. Wholesalers directly purchase their goods from manufacturing companies and maintain their own warehouses to maintain a healthy inventory of drugs. These wholesalers are also involved in export. When running business of this scale the exporters ensure they are in line with the international standards. The domestic market has been showing steady and positive growth. Maharashtra leads the entire country amongst all states in drugs consumption while Gujarat leads in manufacturing drugs in India. The two neighbouring states alone contribute to about 18% of the entire pharmacy business in the country. Recently state of Kerala has announced a lot of measures to increase Ayurveda drug manufacturing and consumption. Despite drastic improvements in this sector Indian drug manufacturers and wholesalers have been subject ...
... to a lot of criticism and negative publicity. This is so because of patent issues the entire industry has been facing since last three years or so. Government of India has been planning to setup a central research laboratory to regularize the research work and to put up a better face in the patent issues. Scientists have welcomed this move and said this will help them to stay independent of manufacturers too since they can report their work to centralized labs and can get better bargain for their work.
Increasing revenues of Wholesale Pharmaceutical Suppliers cannot be directly related to growth of the pharmaceutical industry of India, because the wholesalers not only supply finished goods in India but are also involved in exporting drugs to various countries across the globe. Determining the exact split of revenue which will be sum of import revenue and export revenue of every wholesaler is a cumbersome task. both markets i.e. domestic and export market are showing robust growth since last half decade or so and by the looks of it there seems to be a lot of robust growth in coming years too. India is not only one of the biggest drug manufacturers in the world but also one of the biggest consumers thanks to the humungous population which resides in the country. In Asia, India is the only country which has been emerging as a big player in the drug industry. A lot of international names have been planning to invest and set up their unit in India. The fact that India has a vast coastline across east, west and southern region sets up a huge opportunity to ship drugs across different continents of the world. Young educated population, increasing medical tourism and availability of cheap skilled labour are the prime reasons that has been exciting these manufacturers to have their shop in India.
Healthcare industry in india is fast becoming more professional and organised. This has opened up new prospects at various levels. One such forecasted opportunity is Clinical Trial Supply. it is a getting larger and more complex by the day. This is so because it is not confined and is spreading to all corners of the world. Also the timeframes within which it was being executed is decreasing. A lot of these trials are outsourced, hence the term 'supply'. Eventually both the client and the vendor have one goal i.e. to achieve patent and rights and effective production and supply at the right time. There are a lot of issues these trials run into. Therefore we are seeing a lot of changes in practices to improve efficiency of clinical trial supply and its chain management. The highlight amongst these practices have been reverse engineering or working backwards, maintaining stock levels and trial supplies, forecasting programs, data maintenance in electronic format and complete manual approach. All the countries which practice clinical trial supply have adopted these changes. The results have been very optimistic too. As consumers we do not understand these changes but wholesalers and distributors across the world are fiercely involved in being the first ones either to bring an innovative change or adapt quickly to the changes.
