The Minimalist Golf Swing - What It Is

Are you a golfer who’s been struggling for years to get better? Perhaps you do not hit the ball very far. Or you have a terrible slice. Maybe you even top, skull and shank the ball a lot?

Never fear, dear golfer, your permanent solution is here! The Minimalist Golf Swing System (MGSS).

Why should this be any different from the tons of tips you’ve picked up from the top magazines; or from all the videos and books full of golf instruction you’ve acquired over the years; or from all you’ve learnt from your two dozen golf instructors?

Well, everything you ever learnt was just a slight modification of the way the shepherds swung their crooks at tiny pebbles, in the fields of Scotland, many Centuries ago. And you know how they always tell you, “swing like this because the Pros do so”? Would you want a swing that Mary Queen of Scots - apparently a talented golfer - used in the late 1500s?

The Minimalist Golf Swing has been worked backwards from the requirements of ideal club-ball contact. That is, it has been worked backwards from the known club positions which make the golf ball travel as far ...
... as possible, in a straight direction and with ideal trajectory for the club being used.

This swing uses the set-up and backswing to position every one of your body’s joints in the direction they need to be in for a correct start to the downswing. What does that mean? Well imagine you are in a car-race and your car is facing North when you need to travel South. You’d have to turn your car around and in the meantime all your opponents would be halfway to the finish line! Chances are, whatever swing YOU use is requiring you to do the same. The MORE re-positioning your body has to do before it is set in the direction it needs to be in to start the downswing, the MORE your swing becomes TIMING DEPENDENT, and therefore INCONSISTENT.

THAT is why, even the PROS have a tough time with ‘traditional’ swings. When golfers are nervous or fatigued, even the most ‘grooved-in’ swings can fail - too many movements needing too much co-ordination for the brain to handle!

The MGSS is meant for anyone who wishes to get better. For anyone who wants to feel a pure, clean contact - perhaps for the first time ever. It can be used by anyone aged 8 to 80, as it less likely to cause injury.

An slightly older version of the Minimalist Golf Swing - the full-swing part of the MGSS - may be seen in the section ‘the minimalist golf swing - what it is’. The latest version is only available through in-person lessons. Basically, the MGS System sets up your body during address and backswing so that you cannot help but make a correct downswing and impact.

Think of it like this: the MGS SET-UP is like planning the perfect investment portfolio. The BACKSWING is similar to picking up shares at the right price. Then the DOWNSWING is like sitting back and counting your money as the dividends roll in. Could life get any sweeter? Your golf swing certainly cannot!

Many golfers in two continents have used this swing and improved their distances, reduced their numbers of mis-hits, got rid of their slice, learnt to make soft, high pitch shots, and to chip and putt with more consistency.
