Many people planning to drive from Melbourne to Sydney always think of plying the coastal roads. However, the best adventure can be achieved by taking the inland route which is quite a beautiful and stunning countryside. The scenery along the way is made up small country villages, large cities, and towns, rolling green hills, picturesque rivers, and breathtaking mountain ranges among others. To get the most out of the long journey, you can approach it in a number of days as shown below.
Day 1 - Melbourne to Benalla (200km)
Benalla is a picturesque town situated on River Broken. It is located next to the snow fields of Victoria and the wineries. There is a dam created on the river leading to the creation of a wide and attractive waterway in which water activities like boating and swimming are common. Day 4 - Corowa to Jindabyne (312km)
Jindbyne is situated at the center of the Snowy Mountains. For those who admire sky-viewing, this offers the perfect scenery during the winter. Nature lovers too can have their best summers here. When you travel to Jindabaye, you will get the chance to visit water sports like on L. Jindabyne, camping, fishing, horse riding, bush, skiing.
Day 5, 6, 7, & 8- Jindabyne to Canberra (460km)
In between these are Canberra and Goulburn towns. Canberra has popular attraction site like the Patliament House, the Questacon, Cockington Green Gardens, and the National Dinosaur Museum.IN 1927, the very 1st Australia's motor-car grand prix was held in Goulburn making it an ideal attraction to motor racing lovers.
