There is a common misconception amongst parents when it comes to martial arts. Many parents believe that sending children to these types of classes will encourage violence and will only spur them on to cause trouble.

However, don't knock it until you try it because tons of parents that have sent their kids to a martial arts class have been pleasantly surprised. Plenty of parents have seen the benefits that martial arts can provide to young children and many believe that it can actually calm hyperactive and aggressive children down.

According to the experts, martial arts doesn't promote violence at all. In fact, it does the opposite. Activities like tae kwon do, kung fu, wing chun and karate teach children self-control and concentration, which is undoubtedly the types of skills you want your child to develop at an early age.

Martial arts can be a great way for both boys and girls to achieve fitness and focus in a controlled and supervised environment and along the way children are able to develop socialisation skills. The teachers are there to support the children as they learn self-discipline and right ...
... from the very beginning children are made aware of the rules and regulations within the Do Jo.

In the Do Jo children are taught how to respect others and how to judge situations in the right way without causing unnecessary trouble. They will learn how to control their minds and their bodies and will be taught coping mechanisms that will help them in day to day life.

Each martial art is very skilful and takes a long time to master, which is why children are educated on how to respect their teachers. All of the teachers at wing chun Chelmsford are fully licensed and have been training for at least 10 years. Many of the trainers have tested the art in real situations of danger and have life experiences that children are able to learn from.

Most classes at wing chun Chelmsford are totally mixed ability, so your children won't ever feel left behind or out of place. The typical hour-long class will begin and end with a bow to the teacher or master and before entering any room you must crouch on the floor and bow until you are acknowledged and accepted into the room.

The instructor will guide the students through a warm up session before going on to teach and practice the art's particular skills. These skills may include kicks, punches and blocks and usually requires strict attention and concentration for all students, but children will quickly learn the do's and don'ts of the sport.

Karate Chelmsford classes are great for children who are currently not working well at school as what they learn in karate Chelmsford often carries over into school, helping to improve behaviour and even grades.

Despite all of the other benefits, if nothing else encourages you to send your child to a martial art class, then it should the fitness of your child. With more and more children becoming overweight, it is vital that parents ensure children are physically active and motivated. Karate or wing chun is the perfect place to send kids for motivation in fitness as they will enjoy each and every minute they are in the class.
