Invisible Braces For Adult Orthodontics

Orthodontics effectively straightens the teeth to move them to their proper alignment. Teeth straightening is not only for younger individuals – it is also for adults who wish to improve the form and function of their crooked teeth. However, the metal wires and brackets used in traditional braces treatments may discourage older patients and grownups in having their teeth straightened, because of the discomfort and the embarrassment of having all those metal parts in their mouths.
Adult orthodontics are now available for those who wish to have properly-aligned teeth without the obvious metal wires and brackets used in a traditional metal braces treatment. These adult orthodontic options use plastic aligners, along with tooth-coloured wires, to effectively straighten teeth without making the orthodontic treatment too obvious. There are also adult orthodontic options that focus only on the front teeth, so that the entire treatment time is much shorter – and can only take months to be completed – compared to traditional dental braces that can take years to be finished.
Benefits of Adult Orthodontics

... Invisible braces do not have metal parts (brackets and wires) that are attached to the teeth, making them a very discreet option to straighten the teeth. The aligners and parts of these adult orthodontic options can be worn without the embarrassment of having metal parts inside the mouth. Invisible braces are also made of plastic, so that they are much comfortable to wear, compared to metal braces that can rub against the inside of the mouth and cause the development of mouth sores.
The plastic aligners used in invisible braces can be removed whenever necessary, such as before eating or before brushing the teeth. The removable aligners make it much easier to maintain good oral hygiene since regular (and proper) tooth brushing is not challenging to manage. The aligners just need to be worn for a certain period of time on a daily basis, to make sure that the teeth can effectively be straightened and moved to better alignment within the specified time frame.
There are also adult orthodontic options that specifically target the teeth that are visible when smiling (or when the mouth is opened). The proper alignment of these front teeth can be completed within a shorter period of time (usually just six to eighteen months) – making it possible to have straighter teeth and more attractive smiles in just a fraction of the time frame compared to a traditional dental braces treatment.
