Basmati rice is the most popular type because of its fragrance, nut-like flavour and aroma. It has gain the popularity in kitchen of India as well as most other countries. This is of type long grain rice. China is the largest producer of basmati rice and India is on second rank according to the APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority). Basmati rice comes in both forms i.e brown as well as white. Brown is unprocessed which contains more nutrients then white which are processed.
Because this rice gained such popularity, this rice has become fastest growing item of export in India. India is exporting different types of Indian rice such as basmati rice, non basmati rice and other rice to the different countries across the globe. Fiber in white and brown rice is different. White basmati contains less than of 1 g and brown basmati contains higher then it. These both type of rice contains a little amount of sugar. It is naturally low fat. It contains about 3 g of protein. This rice is considered as good source of thiamine and niacin. But in common if we compare white basmati rice to brown, brown can be said as more nutritious.
