DiSC profiles can be easily created by answering a DiSC questionnaire. A standard questionnaire has twenty four questions that have four options each, with responses ranging from “Most Likely” to “Least Likely”. Once all the questions have been answered, an analysis of the responses needs to be made.

Even though one is only dealing with a total of 48 responses from the questionnaire, manual analysis can introduce error into the final calculation. Instead, to keep the profiles error-free, it is recommended to analyze the responses on a computer. Everything that DiSC provides, like the DiSC sales for software that conducts this analysis, which can be purchased with the use of their in-house currency, epic credits. After the answers are analyzed, they are plotted on a “DiSC profile”.

The DiSC profile is basically a graph that contains levels of each of the four personality traits associated with DiSC tests. The graph is divided into two areas – dark areas and light areas. Traits that fall within the dark area are statistically significant, whereas those that are in the light area are not significant ...

If you undergo DiSC training to receive DiSC certification, you will be taught how to create not just one profile, but an entire profile series. You can create profiles for various aspects of a person’s personality.

Internal Profiles reveal the behavior patterns that are underlying in a subject. These patterns of behavior only come to light in situations where the person needs to put up a social face, or when the person is stressed out.

The External Profile is the opposite of the Internal Profile. This is the behavior displayed by the subject which they think is expected of them, in other words, their best behavior.

The Summary Profile is the most common of the profile series. It takes all the information gathered from the questionnaire to provide a brief summary of the person’s personality. Even if it is not as specific as the Internal or External profiles, it provides a very useful overview of the behavior of an individual.

The Shift Profile is not very common and basically provides information on the person’s changes in behavior as they modify it for different occasions.
