Most people with misaligned teeth are opting for invisible braces in London instead of the traditional metallic or ceramic braces. Orthodontic braces have been around for a long time. Modern dentistry has shaped up over the last two to three centuries but the reference to any device or structures used to fix tooth alignment can be traced back to circa 400 BC to 500 BC during the times of Aristotle and Hippocrates.

Dentistry has evolved revolutionarily over the last fifty years and today invisible braces have replaced the popularity and utility of traditional braces. Why were invisible braces invented has a very simple answer. It is because there was a need to find better alternatives to the unpleasant, hard and unaesthetic metallic and ceramic braces. While the traditional braces were useful and did fix teeth alignment, they looked unappealing and also created a lot of troubles for the wearer. For instance, the braces prevented people from eating certain foods, cleaning and reusing such braces was a challenge and with most hard braces the jaws would hurt upon prolonged use. The metallic colors or distinctly visible braces ...
... often made matters worse and people using them lost confidence, felt shy and were perturbed at the idea of smiling or opening their mouth to speak. Drawing undue attention and being uncomfortable to speak, eat and smile have been the challenges of traditional braces. There was clearly a need to have abetter alternative to traditional braces and people found a fitting solution with invisible braces in London.

Invisible braces, as we know it today, were first developed by Zia Chishti and Kelsey Wirth. Both were undergoing an MBA program in Stanford University and had not graduated then. Kelsey had traditional braces as a teenager and she apparently hated them. Zia too had his trysts with traditional braces and didn’t find them to be desirable at all. The duo had used traditional braces but disliked them however they realized that braces were unavoidable if one intended to remedy the misaligned teeth. They wanted to come up with a solution which would be better than the traditional braces and wouldn’t subject the wearer to the shyness, unpleasant appearance and troubles of metallic or ceramic braces. Thus was born invisible braces which have clear plastic structures. They do not allow people to notice that someone is wearing any braces at all and they are more effective than traditional braces. The designs were patented in 1997 and after venture capitalists came on board to fund the commercial production and launch,
invisible braces were first rolled out in May 2000.

Today you can opt for advanced invisible braces in London dental clinics. A quick assessment by an orthodontist can determine if you would need invisible braces and you can also choose from different varieties today. With invisible braces London residents can now sport a smile that they have always wanted to, be more confident about their teeth and facial features and more importantly keep using invisible braces without others realizing or noticing anything.
