Joydeep Karmakar is a famous Indian shooter. He qualified for the finals of Men's 50m Rifle prone event scored with 595 points and represented India at Olympics 2012 season. In the finals Joydeep scored 104.1 points with a total of 699. He competed 8 shooters. He was very happy when he got the most prestigious Arjuna award from the Indian Government. During 2010 World Cup he won the silver medal. He started his shooting since in the year 1989. He achieved junior record holder when he was at the age of 14, he won the bronze medal in Senior Open sight rifle.
