I had recommend this range.

We use it in our Scout Troop. We're phasing out our Coleman PerfectFlow InstaStart(tm) Two Burner Propane Stove in favour of these.

This stove does put away some warmth (and use does more propane). Marked difference from our old stoves though. Downside is the Scouts have burned a few things as they understand to handle heat.

In Addition, stove is somewhat wider compared to the Coleman, which will help with the bigger containers and skillets. It looks shorter top-to-bottom too, but not significantly

Burner knobs feel more strong.

Another BIG plus is that this stove has a REAL latch. The Coleman stoves have a plastic button latch that, over period, will not hold the stove together when carrying. This resulted in stoves opening apart while being taken, and parts falling out. Unfortunately, the consequence of that appears to have been that the Scout crams the brass propane arm in - sometimes against the burners - which has ruined 2 Coleman stoves.

so. Cost was more than the Colemans (and many others we researched), but the quality looks to be there.

... rated this a 4 since our first two stoves came with producer damage (not transport damage). One lid was so bent that we could not open the cooker. The other had a dent, but in a place. We returned the first (no hassles). The second we kept since the dent was cosmetic. replacement range was in ideal condition.

We'll be replacing more stoves as the Colemans break, and we plan to order more of these Camp Chef stoves.

Because there seem to be several people who have had these fail on them after some use I purchased mine at REI. REI has a life time return policy, so it's worth paying the higher cost for items which possess a higher likelihood of failure.

I experienced the same issue with transport as the others have reported; it came shipped within the actual product box with no box. It was either assembled wrong or got so jarred during transportation that the framework had gotten out of alignment and I almost could not open it. I had to carefully pry it open with some effort, then reassemble and disassemble the aluminum section under the burners. Once I did that, it all fit fine, and has been terrific. Additionally, I found it was shipped with the gasoline regulator insufficiently tied down and rattling throughout the place, but luckily it still worked.

It is really roomy - you can certainly fit two great sized pots on it. I like the wind shields, the handles work well, and it may really simmer, as others have stated.

That said, on a 10 day camping vacation I just used it for your very first moment, and it done well. It is extremely strong - could not think the distinction between this and my old Coleman stove. Night and day. This boiled a large pot of water in just a few moments.

So as long as it continues to function, it is a great stove - powerful and roomy. Overall, I am pleased I got it. If it retains up properly, this is a terrific purchase.
